FREE All-ages Pyjama Party

5-7pm, Whistler Olympic Plaza

The action kicks-off with Sea-to-Sky favourite Ira Pettle leading the PJ Dance Party on Friday, from 5-7pm on the Village Stroll by Olympic Plaza. It’s free to join— just make sure you bring your groove.

SATURDAY & SUNDAY, July 7 & 8:

Whistler Children’s Festival

Whistler Olympic Plaza: 10 am – 4 pm

The Whistler Children’s Festival runs 10 am – 4 pm on Saturday and Sunday, July 7 & 8. Day-entry is $10 for 3-12 year-olds and free for adults and toddlers—basically, your child gets to bring you! You can come for one day or both, there’s a lot to do so don’t be surprised if your kids want to come back for more.

In the general festival area, you’ll find two-days worth of performances to attend including the fiddle skills of the Jocelyn Pettit Band, storytelling with Ta Daa Lady and her Nylon Zoo, the magical Circus Fungus crew, and another 10+ entertainers

Community partners are also in attendance with the Whistler Museum’s historical tickle trunk, the Britannia Mining Museum rock petting zoo, and the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre are making hide bracelets and animal headdresses.

Then there’s the new Make-It-Tent, with 12 hands-on crafting options for parents and caregivers to do with their children. Aimed at ages 3-12 there’s everything from noise-making rain sticks and shaggy shakers, to decorating your own backpack or trucker hat. The festival provides all the materials you need—you and your kids just have to add your imaginations.

To get your craft-on you need to purchase “Fun Tickets” which can be exchanged for different activities in the Make-It-Tent. Each activity has its own “fun ticket” rating, for example, a superhero mask is one ticket ($5) and a backpack making kit is three ($15). There’s a “5 for 4 Fun Ticket Bundle” and a discounted Family Weekend Package, which can be bought ahead of time online to save time and picked up at the festival, and they’re also available on the day—super easy!
